The Manawa is located at 276 Antigua Street. It will be home to over 2000 ARA staff
and students as well as CDHB staff and University of Canterbury Health Science academic
staff and students.
The building features:
Ground Floor - The main entrance
Level 1 - Various sized teaching/learning rooms
Level 2 - Simulation centre accessible by appointment only
Level 3 - Teaching/learning spaces
Level 4 - Research and University of Canterbury space
Level 5 - Reception – an open floor to enable collaboration with our health education partners
Both CDHB Clinical Skills Unit and ARA Clinical Practice Unit staff will be working with and alongside each other on Level 2 as highlighted above.
The floor includes clinical ward space, trauma and ICU capability, clinical skills teaching rooms, a home environment as well as radiology and theatre suites. To support these simulation areas there are three briefing rooms, one of which includes virtual-reality resources, and three control rooms. Video capture information technology capability is included among the resources available.
