Health NZ (HNZ) Te Whatu Ora Canterbury nurses will now submit a portfolio only via electronic means (Mahara ePortfolio) and not a hardcopy.
Before commencing your ePortfolio, ensure you have had a conversation with your manager if you wish to submit or re-submit at proficient, expert, or accomplished level.
Please ensure you contact a Nurse Educator for assistance prior to downloading and editing an ePortfolio. Many are submitted to the office with incomplete or missing sections and are being 'released back' to the nurses to amend.
Goals are not required in the ePortfolio, for Health NZ Canterbury and West Coast nurses. These are now included in the Max Success and Development process. This process may differ for other South Island regional Health NZ Te Whatu Ora nurses.
Nurses are required to 'share' their ePortfolio with the Nurse Manager/peer assessor/senior nurse for 8 weeks prior to
submission date expiring, so they have time to complete their sections in the portfolio.
Please start your portfolio early to allow time for this.
The ePortfolio platform is facilitated by Health (HNZ) Te Whatu Ora.
Nurses from the South Island Te Kāhui Kōkiri Mātanga PDRP are now able to access the Mahara ePortfolio through a portal on the healthLearn welcome page (Nelson Marlborough Region nursing staff will access Mahara via Ko Awatea LEARN)
North Island partnering organisations will contact their organisation's PDRP coordinator.
The electronic portfolios contain pre-formatted templates from the Aotearoa Collaborative National PDRP template developed by a National Nurse PDRP Coordinator (NNPC) subgroup.
All nurse applicants, PDRP assessors, Designated Senior Nurses, or anyone that undertakes the peer assessor role, provide guidance, support and/or assessment for a nurse applicant against the NCNZ competencies, will need to complete the
PDRP Introductory course on healthLearn - ePortfolio RGIT003.
On completion of this course, you will then be given access to Mahara.
Canterbury Nurses: then see your nurse educator for further support, or book for the following education sessions via healthLearn:
