    Day Assessment Unit (DAU)

    At Christchurch Women's Hospital we offer a comprehensive range of specialist antenatal services and clinics for women facing more complicated pregancies and requiring extra support.

    Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA)

    ​​You will either be visiting one of our hospitals for an outpatients or other appointment or will be admitted to hospital as an arranged admission or as an emergency admission.

    Dental clinics

    The Community Dental Service provides free oral health services for all eligible children residing in the Canterbury and South Canterbury District Health Board areas, as well as co-ordination of adolescent oral health access and health promotion.

    Dental Department

    The Dental Department provides specialist care in the areas of Special Needs Dentistry, Pedodontics, Orthodontics and Prosthodontics. The service also provides a relief of pain clinic and a full dental clearance clinic for low income adults.

    Dermatology

    Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin and its diseases.

    Diabetes Service

    The Diabetes Service provides a community and an outpatient consultation service for patients on referral from general practitioners and other health professionals.

    Diabetic Ulcers

    A diabetic ulcer is an open sore or wound that occurs in usually on the feet in approximately 15 percent of patients with diabetes.

    Dialysis Services

    The Dialysis Service provides both haemodialysis and CAPD. Haemodialysis is carried out in either the Acute Dialysis Unit or the Home Dialysis Training Centre.
